Return without consequences: SZCH made an important announcement
In Ukraine, service members who voluntarily return to service after desertion or leaving their unit will be able to avoid automatic punishments if they can do so by August 30, 2025.
The Volyn Regional Territorial Center for Recruiting and Social Support reports that upon service return:
The contract is renewed within three days;
Provision (food, clothing) and cash payments are restored;
The law activates social guarantees and benefits.
Even if a serviceman is charged with a criminal offense, he can continue his service at the commander’s discretion. If the violation occurred for the first time, there is an opportunity to be released from liability. To do this, you must obtain the written consent of the commander and submit a request to the court or prosecutor’s office.
Simplified return procedure
To return to service, you must:
submit a report through the “Army+” application (after receiving a prescription and confirmation, a day is given for arrival at the battalion);
or contact the National Police, the State Bureau of Investigation, the reserve battalion, or the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The following can use the simplified procedure:
those who left their place of service before May 10, 2025;
persons whose contract has been suspended;
service members who will return to the reserve battalion before August 30, 2025.
You can return to service not only in your unit but also in another, which requires a petition that can be filed with the reserve battalion. Here, you can also receive legal assistance and clarification on various issues, as well as check information about yourself in the unified register of pre-trial investigations.
