William Gibson is back on the horizon: a film adaptation of the classic ”Neuromancer” is in development

Apple TV+ is preparing to release an ambitious adaptation of Neuromancer, William Gibson’s creation that laid the foundations of the cyberpunk genre long before The Matrix. The series is scheduled to premiere in 2026, and filming has already begun in several countries.

Fans of the fantasy genre can enjoy a new film adaptation of Neuromancer. This book, published in 1984, became a landmark for cyberpunk, setting the foundation for subsequent works.

The series will have 10 episodes, and the filming locations have been chosen in cities such as Tokyo, London, Canada, and Istanbul, which promises to create visually stunning scenes with neon landscapes, virtual realities, artificial intelligence, and a dynamic plot.

Callum Turner will play Case, a talented hacker whose brain has been severely damaged, preventing him from entering cyberspace – for him, this is destiny. The unexpected appearance of a mysterious character who promises to restore his ability leads Case to participate in a risky mission.

William Gibson is involved in the production of the series, where he participates in script development and oversees the adaptation to preserve the original story’s spirit. The premiere is scheduled for 2026, which will allow viewers to get acquainted with the original book before evaluating the film adaptation.

Additionally, STB, in collaboration with Solar Media Entertainment, is developing an eight-episode comedy-drama titled “Limitedly Suitable”. Filming started in December 2024, and the project is currently in post-production, with the premiere on STB scheduled for this year.
