In Volyn, an official of the State Geocadastre transferred a reserve to private ownership

Investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation have completed the case against one of the deputy heads of the Main Department of the State Geocadastre in the Volyn region. He is suspected of illegally using land plots.

The case concerns three plots located within the “Hnidavski Bogota” nature reserve. This object holds significant ecological importance, as it is designed to preserve rare plant species and natural ecosystems.

According to the investigation, for four years, the official issued illegal orders that allowed the withdrawal of more than 4 hectares of the reserve territory from state ownership. The plots of land fell into the possession of persons connected with the official, in particular his relatives and acquaintances.

The plots were later sold, and the total sale amount was about 1 million hryvnias. Among the buyers was a military man who was unaware of the land’s illegal origin. Thus, he became a victim of fraud.

In total, the state suffered losses of more than 6.3 million hryvnias. In the criminal case, the official is accused of abusing office, which has led to serious consequences. The case materials have already been sent to court.

Additionally, in the Kharkiv region, a case has been referred to court against officials of one of the territorial communities, who are suspected of embezzling nearly 20 million hryvnias allocated from the budget for road repairs.
