According to him, Trump regularly communicates with Putin, their conversations take place about once a month, but they do not yield any positive results for Ukraine. He notes that each time after these calls, Russia launches massive missile and drone strikes on Ukraine and remains unpunished.

“It is obvious that the situation is developing quite favorably for Putin: new packages of weapons are not received, supplies are stopped, no new sanctions are imposed, and some restrictions are even lifted. Russia has the opportunity to continue the war against Ukraine, and on its side are partners such as China and North Korea, which reinforce Putin’s army with resources,” emphasizes Oleksandr Musienko.

After another conversation, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of progress in the peace talks. Ushakov, in turn, reported that Putin insists on eliminating the root causes of the conflict, demanding that NATO leave the region. According to the expert, either Putin does not respect Trump, or they are acting together; otherwise, it is difficult to find another explanation.

“It is necessary for a telephone conversation between Zelensky and Trump to take place, but it is unclear what they can talk about. The President of Ukraine has already done a lot to convince the American side of the importance of cooperation and that Putin is not interested in peace. Perhaps, given the recent events, it is worth canceling this conversation. We are constructively disposed, but from the context it becomes clear that the US is not yet ready to provide Patriot systems,” adds Oleksandr Musienko.
