The cult film ”Night at the Museum” is getting a reboot with new characters

21 Laps is developing a new adaptation of Night at the Museum for 20th Century Studios, Deadline reports.

Tripper Clancy is writing the script for the upcoming film. As noted, the new story will feature new characters, but the basic concept will remain – the museum’s exhibits come to life at Night.

21 Laps’ Sean Levy and Dan Levin, as well as Emily Morris, who is overseeing the project, will serve as producers. Levy has already worked as a director and producer on all three parts of the original series, in which Ben Stiller played the leading role. All three films became box office hits.

The classic films also starred Robin Williams, Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, and other famous actors. After Disney acquired Fox, the franchise received a new lease of life with the animated film Night at the Museum: The New Resurrection of Kamunra, scheduled for release in 2022.

The plot of “Night at the Museum”:

The film “Night at the Museum” tells the story of an ordinary American boy, Larry Daley, who gets a job as a night watchman at the Museum of Natural History. Larry always believed that a more grandiose destiny awaited him. However, on his first NightNight on duty, an unexpected discovery awaits him: all the exhibits in the museum come to life! Now, Larry has to deal with such creatures as a wax figure of former US President Theodore Roosevelt, a tyrannosaurus skeleton, cowboys, and Roman gladiators. He must do everything to prevent these creatures from leaving the museum.
