The actor who will play Voldemort in the new ”Harry Potter” has already been confirmed, but his name has not yet been revealed
The new series based on the Harry Potter books already has an actor cast to play Voldemort. According to Redanian Intelligence, the Dark Lord will appear in several episodes; however, the actor’s name remains a mystery and will only be revealed at the premiere.
The first and second seasons of the series will consist of six episodes, with the number of episodes likely to increase to eight. Filming for the first season has already begun and is set to run until May 2026, while the second season is set to run from July 2026 to May 2027.
One of the reasons for the lengthy production phase is the restrictions on underage actors. By law, children can only appear for a limited time, which affects the production speed.
The first episode of the series is expected to end with a scene in which Hagrid, along with the first years, approaches Hogwarts on boats.
The premiere of the show is scheduled for 2027 and will take place on the HBO and HBO Max platforms.
The primary role of Harry Potter will be played by Dominic McLoughlin, and Arabella Stanton will play the character of Hermione. Alastair Stout will play Ron, and the role of Rubeus Hagrid went to Nick Frost. HBO recently released the first photos with the cast on set.
