Shooting in Kyiv: man opens fire on car in yard

Today, July 23, a shooting occurred in the Podilskyi district of Kyiv when an unknown person opened fire on a car passing by. The police promptly detained the suspect.

According to information provided by the press service of the Kyiv police, residents witnessed the incident, during which the attacker attacked a car in a residential complex. An investigative and operational group, along with patrol police officers, arrived at the scene of the incident.

The police soon detained a 35-year-old suspect under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The man explained that he fired shots from a traumatic weapon as a result of a conflict with the driver of the car that had occurred earlier. The driver was not injured.

The means of committing the offense were seized at the crime scene. Criminal proceedings were initiated in connection with the incident under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which concerns hooliganism with the use of weapons. The suspect faces up to seven years in prison.

In addition, in Kharkiv, Russian suicide drones recently hit a trolleybus depot in the Slobodskyi district. According to Mayor Igor Terekhov, 8 “shaheeds” were used, resulting in the destruction of one trolleybus and damage to at least 18 others, while all the equipment was undergoing repairs or cleaning.
