India refused to purchase Russian oil – a consequence of Trump’s policy, – Mikhail Sheitelman

In his blog, the expert shared information about recent US economic actions against India and other countries.

In particular, he reported that Trump has already imposed a 25% tariff on Indian goods. As Reuters points out, last week, Indian state-owned oil refineries stopped importing Russian oil, replacing it with supplies from West Africa and the Middle East.

“Thus, India no longer buys Russian oil — this is a consequence of Trump’s direct actions. He agreed, and now supplies have increased from other regions. This is a significant share, about a third of all Russian oil exports,” notes Mikhail Sheitelman.

While ruling Brazil, Trump also signed a decree on the introduction of a 50% tariff. This, according to the expert, indicates US opposition to the BRICS organization, of which Brazil is a member.

As for China, as Sheitelman emphasizes, this country will remain in its position and has no intention of giving up Russian oil. “China will not listen to the Muscovites, and Trump will try to find ways to influence them,” he adds.

The expert also gave an interesting detail about August 8, which may become an essential date for Trump, because it is connected with historical events that may influence his decision. “This is a date that is remembered, and Trump loves such moments. I wonder who he will impose new sanctions on? Maybe not China, but it will come to them,” he summarizes.
