Mobilization in August: an important message for men over 50

Can men over 50 be mobilized in 2025?

Yes, such men can be called up if they have no legitimate reasons for exemption, regardless of their age.

Mobilization is ongoing in Ukraine, which affects men aged 18 to 60. Men over 50 can also be called up if they have the appropriate health condition. According to the directives of the Ground Forces, they are usually sent to rear positions, including drivers, logisticians, or technicians. However, some can also be sent to the combat zone.

Lawyer Kateryna Anishchenko emphasizes that such measures are legal and regulated by existing legislation. Directives should not be confused with orders – they are just clarifications.

There are currently talks about restricting mobilization for those over 50, but this is still at the discussion stage. Deputy Venislavsky noted that it is planned to leave on the draft lists only those men who have short-term specialties. However, for now, everyone who does not have grounds for dismissal can receive a summons.

It is worth noting that the territorial recruitment and social support centers (TCS) are doing their job. Although there are some rumors about “busification”, most of them are fakes that are beneficial to the enemy. These fakes are aimed at destabilizing our mobilization. Many of the TCS employees are veterans who have also served in the military. If it were not for the start of the war with Russia, there would be no mobilization measures at all.

The main enemy of Ukraine is Russia. They are destroying our homes, committing crimes against humanity, and also conducting mobilization in the occupied territories, using violence against those who refuse. If we surrender now, this could lead to tragic consequences, as happened in 1918.

Our military is fighting for our lives, and we must support them through donations, volunteering, and unity. Only together can we achieve victory and preserve our freedom.
