Donald Trump mentioned his trip to Russia twice at a press conference

US President Donald Trump confirmed twice during his press conference his intention to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Initially, he planned to go to Russia on Friday, but later clarified that the meeting would take place in the US, and Putin would visit America.

Trump stressed that during these talks, it is essential to discuss the need to end the war started by Russia against Ukraine. “I am striving for an end to the war. The goal is to reach a mutually beneficial agreement. Perhaps there will be a meeting next week. I have a good relationship with Putin. He is interested in cooperation. I believe that he wants this,” the US president said.

According to the plan, the meeting between Trump and Putin is to take place on August 15 in Alaska. It is known that there is an active discussion of possible locations for negotiations between the leaders.

According to information from the Telegraph and Alaska Landmine, one of the possible locations is the Alyeska Resort hotel in the town of Girdwood. The dates from August 12 to 16 are already booked on the official website.

Alyeska Resort opened in 1994 and offers 299 rooms in a castle-style architecture. Accommodation options include the Black Diamond Suite Retreat with a club lounge, which starts at $4,845 per night.

The resort has eight restaurants, including Seven Glaciers, which is famous for its panoramic views and modern Alaskan cuisine, and Sakura, which serves rolls and sushi made with local fish.

Girdwood is located an hour from Anchorage, surrounded by the Chugach Mountains and Turnagain Bay. Winter activities here include skiing and summer hiking. Other possible locations for the meeting are being discussed, including Anchorage with Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.
