Negligence at Kyivvodokanal led to budget losses of over half a million

In Kyiv, a representative of PrJSC “AK “Kyivvodokanal” was suspected of official negligence during the purchase of asphalt concrete mixtures. The Solomyansk District Prosecutor’s Office reported this.

Investigators found that the official, representing the company, did not check the prices of the goods for their compliance with the average market indicators. This led to the conclusion of a contract with a contractor on economically unjustified terms.

The examination also revealed that, as a result of this agreement, the budget incurred losses exceeding 450 thousand hryvnias. The official’s corresponding actions are qualified under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for official negligence that caused grave consequences.

Previously, suspicions were also raised against representatives of the contractor company who supplied asphalt concrete mixtures at inflated prices.

The investigation is ongoing, and if found guilty, the official may face five years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions.

Before this happened, prosecutors of the Dnipropetrovsk region, together with law enforcement officers, exposed the activities of an extensive fraudulent network. The network included 31 call centers operating in the cities of Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Nikopol, Kamianske, and Samara. Some of these call centers were disguised as so-called investment companies and fake financial platforms, where “operators” convinced people to invest money in cryptocurrency with promises of high returns from stock trading.
