Ukraine has experienced a significant increase in food prices, particularly for eggs, which have become 82.4% more expensive than they were a year ago.
According to the State Statistics Service, inflation in July 2025 was 14.1%, with products remaining the primary factor in the increase in the cost of living. Since the beginning of the year, food prices have increased by 9.3%, and compared to June 2022, they have risen by 22.6%.
The report noted that “consumer prices in July 2025 were 0.2% lower than in June.”
Quality goods continue to become more expensive: fruits have increased in price by 52.7%, sunflower oil by 30.4%, butter by 27.8%, meat by 24.2%, and milk by 20.3%. The only product that decreased in value was sugar, with a 5.4% annual decrease. Vegetables experienced a 23.9% price decrease.
In the non-food market, prices for clothing (-5.5%) and footwear (-4.9%) have decreased. At the same time, most other services and goods have increased in price: communications have become more expensive by 17.3%, restaurants and hotels – by 15.1%, medical services – by 12.3%, education – by 12.1%, and entertainment – by 1.2%.
Even though tariffs for gas, heating, and electricity remain unchanged due to the moratorium, the overall cost of living continues to grow, which everyone feels.
It is also worth noting that supermarkets are starting to raise prices for products that have social significance, and the new prices for tomatoes and cucumbers have already raised questions among consumers.
