Public transport will be restricted in the capital until Independence Day

On August 24, in the center of Kyiv, traffic will be restricted and the Maidan Nezalezhnosti metro station will be temporarily closed due to the Independence Day celebrations.

The Maidan Nezalezhnosti metro station will be inaccessible for entry and exit from 5:38 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This is due to official celebrations, as reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.

The restrictions will be in effect at the specified times, but the transfer between Maidan Nezalezhnosti and Khreschatyk stations will remain unchanged.

In the event of an air raid, the station will serve as a shelter.

The Kyiv Metro asks passengers to take these changes into account when planning their trips.

In addition to the restrictions in the metro, the routes of surface public transport in the capital will also be changed on August 24.

According to information from the Kyivpastrans Public Transport Company, buses and trolleybuses will undergo changes in their movement from 6:00 until the end of the festive events, which is expected to be approximately 12:00.

Trolleybuses will travel along new routes:

№ 6 – from Minsky Massiv to the Lukyanivska metro station;

№№ 16 and 18 – from Mrii Street and Soshenka Street to the Povitroflotsky Overpass.

Also, from 7:00 until the end of the festivities, the directions of movement of some buses will change:

Bus No. 62 will run:

from the Botanical Garden to Bessarabskaya Square along the usual route, then along Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, a U-turn near Tereshchenkovskaya Street, and then again along the Boulevard, Velyka Vasylkivskaya Street, Bessarabsky Proezd, Baseyna Street to its usual route;

separately – from the metro station “Kontraktova Ploshcha” to the European Square.

Routes No. 110 and 111 – from Myloslavska Street and Darnytska Ploshcha to the European Square;

Bus No. 114 will run:

from Myloslavska Street to the European Square;

separately – from the Central Railway Station to the metro station “Ploscha Ukrainskih Geroiv”.

The Kyivpastrans Public Transport Company apologizes for any possible inconvenience and urges passengers to take into account changes in transport traffic on August 24.
