The Cabinet of Ministers launches an innovative experiment for students in grades 10–12
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a new experiment in secondary education, which has the potential to transform the country’s education system significantly.
In particular, it is planned to introduce new academic programs of specialized education for students in grades 10–12. The project will run until August 2027 and serve as a testing ground for implementing the State Standard of Specialized Education, as well as preparing for the 12-year curriculum.
As Taras Melnychuk, the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, commented on the government’s decision in his Telegram channel, the experiment will enable schools to implement specialized programs developed based on typical educational plans for senior classes, with an emphasis on academic training.
These changes will contribute to better preparation of students for further study in higher educational institutions and adaptation to modern labor market requirements. The program is scheduled to launch on September 1, 2025, and will last for two years, paving the way for the full implementation of a 12-year general secondary education in Ukraine.
