You Probably Didn’t Pay Attention to This Shocking Detail in “Friends”: Fans Made an Unexpected Discovery

Fans of the famous series “Friends” have once again discovered an interesting detail that they may not have noticed before. In the 13th episode of the sixth season, during the scene when Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Monica (Courteney Cox) are talking on the couch, in the kitchen behind them is seen… a cameraman with a camera!

This episode was also remembered for the appearance of Rachel’s younger sister, played by Reese Witherspoon.

The interesting moment became popular on TikTok after the publication of the user @friends.af. Viewers explain that they had not noticed this fragment before because of the old 4:3 TVs, which “cropped” part of the image. Therefore, on modern 16:9 screens, this moment became noticeable.

“Friends” was shown on NBC from 1994 to 2004, covering 10 seasons and 236 episodes. Throughout this decade, viewers followed the six friends – Monica, Ross, Chandler, Rachel, Joey, and Phoebe, watching their romances, quarrels, and dreams.

Initially, the show had several working titles, including “Insomnia Café”, “Friends Like Us”, and “Six of One”; however, it ultimately retained its simple title, “Friends”.

Interestingly, the actors’ initial fee was $22,000 per episode, but by the end of the series, thanks to collective bargaining, their salary had increased to a record $1 million per episode.

David Schwimmer became the first actor approved for the role, as many scripts were written for his character Ross. Interestingly, Matthew Perry initially could not get into the series at all, since he had already starred in the pilot of another show about aliens, although the project never aired.

The series was also remembered for its star-studded cameos: Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Sean Penn, and others appeared in it. It is worth noting that Bruce Willis agreed to participate in the filming for free, losing to Matthew Perry in the pair.
