Ukrainians have received an urgent warning: Russia is preparing strikes on energy infrastructure to disrupt preparations for the winter season. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this during a meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gaa Støre in Kyiv. Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the Russian side is deliberately trying to ensure that millions of Ukrainian families will face the cold season without electricity and heat.

According to the president, “Russia is trying to disrupt our preparations for winter by striking at the energy system. This applies not only to electricity and heat production, but also to natural gas production.” The Kremlin is openly using winter as a tool of terror, hoping to destroy the morale of Ukrainians.

Last year, Ukraine faced serious problems, including mass power outages at critical moments. However, even in these difficult conditions, Ukrainians were able to survive thanks to the support of international partners. The president emphasized that a million Ukrainian households received heat thanks to assistance from Norway, which financed the purchase of gas. This case demonstrates how supporting allies can save lives by keeping homes warm.

Today, the challenges remain serious, and the threats are even growing. Russia is not only attacking energy facilities, but also trying to destroy gas supplies. This could lead to a real test for every Ukrainian during the cold months. The government is working to improve energy security, but it is essential to realize that strikes could be massive and power outages are inevitable.
