Fines for Ukrainians: What to know pedestrians and cyclists

A walk in the open air in Ukraine can hit your wallet significantly. The country has strict rules for all road users, and those who violate them are punished.

As stated in the Code of Ukraine, not only drivers, but also pedestrians, cyclists, as well as those who use draft carts, and people leading animals can be held accountable.

Pursuant to Article 127 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, pedestrians who do not adhere to the traffic lights or go in unauthorized places can be fined UAH 255. In case of drunk disruption, the fine increases to 680 UAH.

There are also specific penalties for cyclists and especially on carts – for violation of the rules, they can pay 340 UAH, and in the case of alcohol consumption, 680 UAH.

It is essential to note that the actions that have led to the creation of an emergency can result in fines of up to UAH 850 for pedestrians, cyclists, or other road users. Public works are also available for 20 to 40 hours, and this includes a court fee.

Police have the right to impose a fine without trial immediately, and it should be paid within 15 days. Failure to do so is transferred to the State Enforcement Service, which leads to a doubling of the fine.

It was also known that pedestrians and cyclists are planning to impose new penalties for violations. Essential requirements must be met, as they may not be serious about their non-compliance.
