IDPs may lose government payments in September
In September, some internally displaced persons may stop receiving state aid. This is due to the new conditions they must meet, as reported in the Ministry of Social Policy.
Since the beginning of the war, Ukrainians who have IDP status receive financial support of UAH 2000 for adults and 3000 UAH for children or people with disabilities. However, this assistance is only available to IDPs who meet specific criteria. If the person no longer fulfills these requirements, the assistance shall be suspended.
In particular, in September, payments will be canceled for those IDPs who:
- returned to his permanent residence;
- purchased a car not over five years (except those provided for defense needs);
- bought a land, house, or apartment worth more than 100 thousand hryvnias (except for housing provided for budgetary funds);
- has more than 100 thousand hryvnias in the deposit account;
- purchased foreign currency or bank metals worth more than 100 thousand hryvnias (except for charitable funds and payment of social services);
- owns housing outside the war zone or occupied territories with an area exceeding 13.65 m² per person;
- is abroad without valid reasons for more than 30 days (except for a business trip or study).
It should be noted that termination of payments will occur in the month following the establishment of grounds for cancellation of assistance. So, in September, some IDPs can be left without financial support.
