Age restrictions for drivers have been established in Ukraine: what innovations are worth knowing
Did you know that age restrictions for drivers in Ukraine can impact your ability to drive? These restrictions depend on the type of vehicle you plan to drive.
Each type of transport has its own rules determining the minimum age for obtaining a license. For example, mopeds, cars, and buses all require different approaches to driver age.
What if you want to get behind the wheel earlier?
If you are under 16, your parents will be held responsible for any violations that occur. If you are already 16 but do not have a driver’s license, be prepared for a fine of 3,400 UAH.
To become an official driver, you need to go through the usual procedure: pass a theory test, practice your practical skills, and obtain a license at the Ministry of Internal Affairs service center. There will be no exceptions to these requirements.
What about elderly drivers?
There are no restrictions for elderly drivers. If your health and reaction times allow, you can drive a car at the age of 60 or 70.
Remember that several life hacks can help preserve your engine and save money. Earlier, we reported that wearing flip-flops and high heels while driving can result in a fine in some instances.
