The traitor to the Armed Forces was sentenced for 15 years for cooperation with Russia

The Security Service of Ukraine has revealed a case of betrayal among military personnel of the Armed Forces. One of the military personnel who maintained contact with Russian intelligence planned to transmit essential data that could lead to severe attacks on the country’s aviation infrastructure.

According to the SBU, the Air Force serviceman received a sentence of 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. It was one of the most significant informants for the occupiers in the Ukrainian troops.

The traitor was appointed head of the apartment and operational service of one of the aviation crews. His recruitment took place through his former wife, who was a mediator between them and representatives of the Russian special services. Later, the military began to communicate directly with Russian curators.

The investigation indicated that he collected accurate coordinates for the shelling of aerodromes and technical bases, where the Armed Forces were based. The information he passed was planned for use in rocket and drone attacks on Ukraine’s aviation infrastructure.

The SBU counterintelligence found his criminal activity in time, recorded the evidence, and detained the traitor. During the searches, his phone was discovered, through which he maintained communication with the enemy and the unregistered Kalashnikov machine with the chains.

The court found the military guilty of state treason committed by a group of persons during the war (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code), as well as of illegal possession of weapons (Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code).

In addition, in June 2025, the SBU was charged with a former wife, who also worked in the interests of Russian special services. She is threatened with responsibility for state treason in the conditions of martial law.

It is also worth noting that the Ukrainian military detained eight traitors recently during hostilities in the east of the country. The court ruled on their guilt in state treason and collaboration, imposing the maximum period of imprisonment.
