When does the government plan to change gas tariffs for the population?
The issue of increasing gas tariffs is increasingly worrying Ukrainians, as utility costs are already significant.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced until what period the prices of “blue fuel” for the population will remain unchanged.
The head of the government noted that the authorities’ main task is to ensure stability during the heating season, especially amid new challenges posed by the intensification of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. She emphasized that the government is doing everything possible to ensure that citizens have access to heat and light even in the most difficult war conditions.
To ensure industry stability, a decision was made to extend special obligations in the natural gas market. This means that until March 31, 2026, tariffs will remain fixed:
For the population – UAH 7,420 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas (including VAT);
For budget institutions – UAH 16,390 per 1,000 cubic meters (including VAT).
Svyrydenko emphasized that maintaining fixed prices allows households and local budgets to maintain certainty and avoid price fluctuations during the critical period of the year. According to her, such an approach is essential for the country’s energy security and social protection of Ukrainians.
Earlier, the possible consequences of even a warm winter were discussed: will Ukrainians have enough gas?
In addition, the new gas-delivery cost for 2026 was discussed.
A free gas program was also announced for specific categories of the population, in particular those who would benefit from cylinders.
