The armor is bursting at the seams: who can be mobilized in early 2026, even with a postponement now

New changes are being introduced in Ukraine that could seriously affect those who believed they had reliable protection from mobilization. Starting next year, some citizens may lose such “armor”.

Under current rules, enterprises can receive the status of critical from the Ministry of Economy for only 1 year. Many companies were re-certified in accordance with the new standards back in February of this year, so in January-February 2026, they will need to prove their importance again, and not everyone will succeed.

Changes in requirements: if you fail to comply, you lose

To maintain the reservation of their employees, companies must meet new criteria:

Absence of debts to the budget and the Pension Fund;
Increase in salaries from January 1 to UAH 21,617 in connection with the rise in the minimum wage;
Confirmation of economic significance – through the volume of taxes and foreign exchange revenues, or documentary confirmation of importance for a particular industry or community.
If companies fail to meet these requirements after the New Year, they risk losing their critical status and, accordingly, the reservation of their employees. This will especially affect those companies that received a deferral “by acquaintance” or based on subjective criteria.

What awaits employees

By January, all employees of such companies must pass a military medical commission (VLK). If the company’s status is canceled, the reservation will be automatically canceled.

The relevant information will immediately appear in the state register “Oberig”. If a man has already been recognized as fit for service, it is only a matter of time before he receives a summons. It is essential to know that under the new rules, a summons sent by mail is considered delivered, even if the recipient has not seen it.

It was also reported that new mobilization rules have been introduced in Ukraine, where sanctions will be imposed every 15 minutes.
