$6,500 for a weekly “deregistration”: veteran reveals prices of metropolitan shopping malls after arrest
In Ukraine, the territorial recruitment centers of the capital have different “tariffs” for the temporary release of those liable for military service. Veteran Simoroz told Radio Liberty that to register a week’s absence and have the opportunity to resolve the issue of booking in Kyiv, it is necessary to pay approximately $6,500.
He noted that the CCC does not control entry to the city’s large nightclubs, since their clients have “white tickets”. Thus, representatives of the wealthy class do not face the same problems as ordinary citizens, who are regularly subject to checks.
According to him, at large enterprises, there is a kind of “word of mouth” that transmits information about tariffs and ways to avoid strict restrictions. The same CCC employees visit the “majors”, while ordinary citizens do not have such opportunities.
“They brought it to the TCC, paid $6,500 – and got a week to resolve the reservation issues,” the veteran commented. This situation causes dissatisfaction among those who cannot afford to pay such an amount.
Thus, such a system creates two classes: those who can buy themselves time and benefits, and those who are forced to follow standard rules. According to Simoroz, the “ordinary class” constantly faces checks and restrictions, while wealthy citizens of the capital do without serious consequences.
