Attack on a residential high-rise building in Dnipro: the city declared days of mourning on November 9-10

On the night of November 8, Russian troops struck a residential high-rise building in Dnipro, causing significant damage and numerous casualties. A two-day mourning period was declared for the city on November 9 and 10.

Dnipro Mayor Boris Filatov reported the attack on the city. The international community could not remain aloof from this tragedy.

Two people died during the shelling, and another body remains under the rubble. Twelve residents were injured.

Filatov announced that residents of 72 apartments in the nine-story building will be relocated. Fifty-four apartments are critically damaged and will be dismantled. The city will provide temporary housing for the victims.

Work is also underway to restore heating in the surviving parts of the building and to restore heat supply in the Prydniprovsk and Sonyachny districts. As a result of the shelling, about 1,200 windows were at risk, and parts of the roofs and interpanel seams were damaged.

A headquarters for coordinating assistance has been organized in Lyceum 130 on Heroiv Avenue. Victims can contact the Sobornyi district administration to complete documents under the “eRecovery” program.

According to the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, a series of explosions was recorded in the city during a massive attack by drones and ballistic missiles. As a result, a fire broke out in a high-rise building, damaging many apartments. According to information, as of 02:30, seven people were injured as a result of the shelling, including two children aged 2 and 13.
