Teacher says children are becoming less intelligent, sparking outrage among parents
Ukrainian math and physics teacher Tetyana Trush expressed her thoughts on today’s students on the Threads platform. She notes that, year after year, it becomes increasingly complex to work with children, and that, in her opinion, the students themselves lose the ability to perform even basic tasks. This comment contributed to active discussions and indignation on social networks.
According to Tetyana, children have difficulty memorizing poems, concentrating, formulating thoughts, and logically connecting events. She believes that the new generation, which grew up in the era of smartphones and unlimited access to information, is losing fundamental cognitive and emotional skills.
“What angers me is that every year, children become less and less able to focus, explain the connections between phenomena, and clearly express their thoughts. They lose humanity and empathy,” she said.
The teacher pointed to the increase in vacancies in educational institutions, which is associated with learning difficulties.
Her statement drew mixed reactions online. Many parents and colleagues believe that modern children are more intelligent, open, and adaptable compared to previous generations. Social media users claim that students’ fatigue and decreased concentration are not due to a lack of intelligence, but to an overload of classes, extracurricular activities, and tutors.
