Massive Internet outages in Moscow: Downdetector registers a significant number of complaints

On November 27, 2025, significant Internet outages were reported in Moscow.

Residents of various districts of the capital reported no Internet access or a significant decrease in speed. Difficulties arose in both mobile networks and home Wi-Fi systems, and users were unable to connect via cellular operators or fixed Internet providers.

According to the research service Downdetector, at about 14:00 Moscow time, a sharp increase in complaints was recorded – more than 50 appeals in a short period of time, which indicates the massive nature of the problems, in particular in the Saratov region.

Operators, including MTS, have acknowledged the problems and recommend standard solutions to users, such as rebooting devices, checking SIM cards, and, if possible, using VoWiFi.

At the moment, the official reasons for these problems are not reported. Users are receiving SMS messages from operators about possible restrictions “for security reasons, but providers do not confirm this information. The situation remains tense, and clarifications are planned after the completion of technical checks.
