Attacked a conscript in the CCC in the Carpathian region: the suspect faces up to 12 years in prison
In Prykarpattia, on November 11, a conscript was taken to the territorial recruitment and social support center to clarify his credentials. After that, he was sent to a local hospital with other citizens for a medical examination. However, during the medical examination, the man refused to undergo fluorography, which provoked aggression from the deputy head of the CCC, who began to beat him.
According to information provided by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the investigation found that the officer struck the victim with aimed blows, hitting him in the groin area at least five times. The blows were intentional, which caused severe injuries that required surgical intervention (orchiectomy).
Under the procedural guidance of the Ivano-Frankivsk Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense of the Western Region, the official was informed of suspicion of abuse of power during martial law, which led to grave consequences (Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The court granted the prosecutors’ motion and ordered the preventive measure of arrest without bail for the lieutenant colonel. At the same time, possible connections of other persons, including representatives of law enforcement agencies, are being checked in this situation.
The suspect may face up to 12 years in prison for the offense.
