Winter promises to be very difficult: Russia plans to attack with a record number of missiles and drones

The upcoming winter may be one of the most difficult since the beginning of the full-scale war, as the enemy is actively building up its weapons and seeks to leave Ukrainians without electricity and heating.

This opinion was expressed by the executive director of the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation, Dmytro Zhmaylo, on the air of “Ukrainian Radio”.

This year’s winter may turn out to be no less complicated than the last winter campaign of 2022-2023, when Russian forces practically paralyzed the energy system, leaving Ukrainians without electricity for a long time and forcing them to open heating points.

Zhmaylo noted that at the moment, the enemy has significantly strengthened its resource capabilities, in particular in terms of missile and drone strikes. According to him, since the middle of the year, the Russian troops have seen an increase of at least 2,000 units of missile systems, made possible by China’s support in the form of technologies and specialists.

The specialist also emphasized that although winter may be harsh, it is unlikely to leave Ukraine completely without electricity and heat. The main threat is the enemy’s tactics, which aim to destabilize the energy system by creating an electricity deficit on the left bank while simultaneously creating a surplus on the right, complicating electricity and heat supply throughout the country.

Earlier, the portal reported that Russian missiles would be able to act even faster, and experts warned of new threats. It was also noted that a 20-hour power outage could become the new reality, and they are preparing for a “dark” winter with serious problems with the energy supply and possible power outages lasting more than 8 hours a day.
