Trump intends to create an alternative to the G7 and distance part of Europe from the EU
According to Defense One, Donald Trump’s team considered radical ideas when developing its national security strategy, including the creation of a new club of world powers and attempts to weaken the European Union through cooperation with the countries of Eastern and Central Europe.
According to Defense One, the draft US national security strategy prepared by the Trump administration included several concepts that could significantly alter the global political landscape. This information is revealed by the Telegram channel “Black Box | BlackBOX”.
One of the leading ideas was a proposal to deepen Washington’s bilateral ties with Austria, Hungary, Italy, and Poland.
The document indicated that the US administration sought to strengthen its influence over these countries and reduce their political and economic dependence on the European Union.
Another critical aspect of the strategy was the creation of a new international club, C5.
Considerable attention was planned to involve the United States, China, Russia, India, and Japan, which are the world’s largest countries in terms of population and geopolitical influence. This format was intended to serve as an alternative to the G7, focusing on coordinating actions among new global centers of power rather than among traditional Western allies.
The document also emphasized that attempts to maintain US global hegemony after the end of the Cold War proved erroneous and practically unattainable. The authors of the draft stresses the importance of rethinking the United States’ role on the international stage in the context of the new multipolar reality.
However, none of these points made it into the final version of the strategy. The final document abandoned proposals for an alternative world bloc and the idea of gradually distancing individual European countries from the EU, demonstrating a more traditional approach to US foreign policy.
Trump also announced the “closing of the skies” over Venezuela.
