12 days of precipitation: the weather forecast on New Year’s Eve will force Ukrainians to reconsider their plans

December this year is quite unpredictable: sometimes snow, sometimes mild sun, but no real frosts.

Forecasters have already hinted that winter will come, but without the traditional winter landscapes. Ukrainians can expect a warm end to the year, with wet roads and a spring-like mood under the New Year tree.

Please familiarize yourself with the weather forecast for December in key cities across Ukraine, as there are a few surprises in store.

Kyiv: the sun is hiding, frost on the lips

The capital welcomes the month with gray weather: cloudy and humid, but not severe. During December, the temperature will drop below zero only once – on the 23rd. On other days, the temperature will remain above zero, and it will rain so that gloves will remain in the closet for a long time.

In the first half of the month, temperatures gradually decrease, and the second half will be more unpredictable, with short-term precipitation, heavy clouds, and frequent weather changes. On New Year’s Eve, rain and temperatures around +4° are forecast, which means that umbrellas will be in trend instead of snowflakes.

Lviv: more sun, but there will be no shortage of rain.

Lviv residents will have more opportunities to enjoy sunny days, but they will have to pay for it with wet feet – 12 days with precipitation in the form of rain or snow. The temperature will stay above zero, so there will be no snow cover, but ice is practically guaranteed. Real winter here looks more like a long autumn with the bonus of ice.

Kharkiv: winter at a crossroads

The month begins with a positive temperature, and the first frosts are expected only in the second week. During the month, the weather stabilizes, but the monotony of the temperature adds to the feeling of boredom. Precipitation will be infrequent: only 6 days with rain or snow. Winter is definitely present, but hidden from view.

Odesa: the sea is warmer than impulses of joy

Odessa residents will not see snow this year. December will be warm from beginning to end, and the temperature will not drop below zero. The coldest days will be December 13, 14, 16, and 24, but no “minus” temperatures are predicted. The New Year will be celebrated on the coast without snow cover.

Dnipro: passionate differences

In the Dnipro, the weather will be changeable: cloudy days will be replaced by sunshine, and the temperature will fluctuate. Night frosts are possible in the second week, after which it will become warmer again. At the end of the month, the temperature will noticeably decrease from December 23 to 30.
