Forecasters spoke about the severity of the frost that awaits Ukraine on January 1

In Ukraine, in the last decade of December, real winter weather is observed, which will continue in the new year 2026.

According to the forecast of the Ukrhydrometeorological Center, the first day of the year, January 1, promises strong night and noticeable daytime frosts. During the day, light snow is possible in all regions, and in most areas, the sun will break through the snow clouds.

In the west and north of the country, the night temperature will drop to -12 degrees, while daytime temperatures will not exceed 0 degrees in the north.

In the western regions, the weather will be cloudy with slight snow. The average night temperature will range from -9 to -12 degrees, and the daytime from -6 to -4 degrees.

In the north, variable cloudiness and light snow in places will be observed. The night temperature will be -10 to -12 degrees, and during the day it will range from -8 to -6 degrees.

The central regions will also have variable cloudiness with light snow. The night air temperature will be between -9 and -11 degrees, and the daytime temperature will be between -6 and -8 degrees.

In the southern regions, variable cloudiness and light snow are expected. The nights will be colder, with temperatures from -6 to -8 degrees, and during the day, it will fluctuate from 0 to +2 degrees.

The eastern regions are awaiting similar weather conditions, with variable cloudiness and light snow. The night temperature will again be from -7 to -9 degrees, and during the day from -8 to -5 degrees.

In Crimea, the weather will be cloudy with occasional breaks and no precipitation. The night temperature will fluctuate between -6 and -8 degrees, and during the day, between -3 and -1 degrees.

According to preliminary forecasts, moderate snowfall is expected across Ukraine on December 29, with a slight chance of snow in the west and southwest, and ice on roads.
