Fraudulent scheme to seize 60 hectares of land in Dnipropetrovsk region exposed
In the Dniprovsky district of the Dnipropetrovsk region, a scheme to illegally seize land belonging to farms has been uncovered. The person involved in the case has now been charged with suspicion, and the pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
According to the Slobozhansk District Prosecutor’s Office, a resident has been charged with fraudulent seizure of land plots (Part 5, Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation revealed that in November 2023, the accused used forged inheritance certificates to re-register three land plots intended for agricultural purposes. The total area of these lands exceeds 60 hectares, and the ownership rights are registered in the name of persons from his circle of acquaintances.
In the future, the suspect planned to sell these lands through resale. The estimated cost of the seized lands is approximately 2.3 million hryvnias.
The court has already chosen a preventive measure for the suspect. Law enforcement officers are continuing the pre-trial investigation and identifying other individuals who may be involved in this criminal scheme.
Investigative measures are being carried out by officers of the Investigation Department No. 2 of the Dnipro District Police Department with the support of the Department for Counteracting Cybercrime in the region.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by law.
In addition, prosecutors from the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported suspicions against two former officials for violations during the purchase of electricity for a utility company, resulting in losses exceeding 10 million UAH.
