Mass power outages on January 7: schedules will be in effect throughout Ukraine

On Wednesday, January 7, Ukrenergo reports that hourly power outages for household consumers will begin across all regions of Ukraine.
The same restrictions will apply to industrial enterprises.
The energy company noted that these measures became necessary due to massive enemy attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which caused a shortage of electrical capacity.
Energy experts emphasize that the situation in the power system remains dynamic and may change over time. It is recommended to check the exact time and duration of outages for specific addresses on the official websites of the regional energy companies in your region.
It should be noted that the first few minutes after power is restored are critical for the system, as simultaneous switching on of electrical appliances can cause a sharp load spike.
Ukrenergo urges consumers to use electricity economically when power supply is restored, according to the schedule.
On Tuesday, January 6, hourly power outage schedules will also be in effect in all regions, affecting residential consumers and businesses.
Ukrenergo Chairman Vitaliy Zaychenko noted that since the fall, attacks on Ukraine’s power system have occurred approximately every 10 days, highlighting the adversary’s targeted strategy. After each attack, energy companies struggle to balance the system, often leading to emergency power outages.
