Local authorities made an urgent appeal due to the risk of blackout
Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv expressed concern about a possible power outage in the city for up to 24 hours. If a complete power outage occurs, the temperature in homes could drop to critically low values, so it is important to prepare clear recommendations for city residents, reports “Misto”.
During a city council meeting, Martsinkiv emphasized the need to be prepared for a potential blackout. He noted that residents should know how to respond when the light goes out in their homes, and the temperature drops to 4 degrees. People need to have information about possible places for temporary accommodation in an emergency.
The mayor drew attention to the fact that heating points must work efficiently, providing people with essential items such as generators, fuel, hot drinks, and other necessities.
In addition, ideas were discussed for installing heating points at educational institutions, which, in an emergency, can be quickly adapted to receive residents.
Currently, the city continues to operate on a power outage schedule for stabilization. In some cases, the power supply can be interrupted up to four times a day, with outages lasting up to five and a half hours.
