Frosts down to -25 °C and icy roads: weather forecast in Ukraine for February 1

On Sunday, February 1, weather conditions in Ukraine are expected to worsen. Forecaster Ihor Kibalchych notes that the country will be under the influence of Arctic air, leading to significant temperature drops, severe frosts, slippery roads, and local snowfalls.

According to Kibalchych, most regions of Ukraine will be affected by cold air, leading to significant fluctuations in air temperature and worsening road conditions due to ice.

In the western regions, dry, partly cloudy weather is forecast, with no precipitation, but the road surface will remain slippery. The north wind will blow at a speed of 3-8 m/s, and at night the air temperature will drop to -20…-25 °C, during the day it will fluctuate from -10 to -16 °C.

Transcarpathia will be an exception: here, at night, the temperature is expected to range from -3 to -8 °C, and during the day it will rise to close to 0 °C.

No precipitation is expected in the northern regions, but the roads will remain slippery. The north wind speed will reach 7-12 m/s. The temperature at night will drop to -18…-23 °C, and during the day it will be within -12…-17 °C.

In the central part of Ukraine, light snow is possible at night, but precipitation will stop during the day. Ice is expected. North wind, speed 7-12 m/s. The night temperature will be -14 to -21 °C, the same daytime temperature, from -9 to -16 °C.

In the south of the country, light snowfall is possible at night, but no significant precipitation is expected during the day. The road surface will remain slippery. The north wind will be 7-12 m/s. At night, the temperature will be -10…-16 °C; during the day, it will fluctuate between -7 and -13 °C. In Crimea, daytime temperatures will range from -1 to -6 °C.

In eastern Ukraine, snowfall is expected overnight, with no significant precipitation during the day. Roads will be slippery. North wind, 7-12 m/s. The temperature at night will be -14…-19 °C, and during the day -12…-17 °C.
