Weather in Ukraine on February 8: warming and ice

On February 8, Ukraine will experience relatively mild winter weather, with no severe frosts. It is predicted that synoptic conditions will contribute to precipitation, fog, and melting ice, potentially creating dangerous conditions for drivers and pedestrians.

At night, the air temperature will be between -3…-8 degrees, in the west -0…-4, and in the south around zero. During the day, the temperature will fluctuate from 0 to -4 degrees. In the west, around zero, in the south, it will be warmer: +2…+5, and in Crimea, up to +6…+10 degrees.

Over the weekend, precipitation in Ukraine is forecast as wet snow and rain. Due to warming, ice will melt on roads and sidewalks, forming a slippery surface. Drivers and pedestrians should be especially careful.

Heat and high humidity will contribute to the development of fog. In Kyiv, fog and periodic precipitation in the form of wet snow are expected. The temperature in the capital may drop to -5…-7 degrees Celsius next night, and -2…-4 degrees Celsius during the day. On Sunday, the temperature will drop again to -4…-7, and the evening hours will further cool to -9 degrees Celsius.

From February 9 to 11, a new wave of cold air will sweep across Ukraine, but warming is expected again on February 12.
