Why you should use toothpaste in the washing machine
Many people have started looking for safe home alternatives for household appliance care to avoid using aggressive detergents. One unexpected yet very effective option for cleaning is ordinary toothpaste.
Over time, dirt particles, detergent residues, scale, and a hated odor accumulate in washing machines. A popular method has appeared on the Internet that suggests solving this problem with lemon and toothpaste.
Method of use
To clean, you need to cover half of a lemon with toothpaste. Thanks to the lemon’s acidity, mineral deposits dissolve, and the paste’s soft abrasive particles enhance cleaning. Such a mixture effectively removes dirt and refreshes the drum of the washing machine.
For best results, it is also recommended to treat the rubber door seal with toothpaste. After that, the lemon is sent to the drum, and the washing machine is started in a high-temperature mode.
Before use, make sure there are no seeds in the lemon to prevent them from getting into the drain holes.
Alternative
You can also use vinegar and baking soda to combat mold and mildew. First, select a hot mode and add a few glasses of vinegar. When the machine is filled with water, pause the program for about an hour to allow the solution to work on the dirt.
After this process is complete, run another cycle: add a glass of baking soda to the drum (you can also add a few drops of essential oil), and select a long wash at a moderate temperature.
These methods are considered a gentle alternative to store-bought products, allowing you to maintain freshness and cleanliness without harming your health.
