UAH 5,000 supplement to pension: who will be able to receive these payments in March

In March of this year, some Ukrainians will receive a significant increase in social benefits – more than five thousand hryvnias.

This is especially important for families with disabled parents and families of fallen defenders of Ukraine. From March 2026, the government will introduce a new guaranteed minimum payment for these categories of citizens.

According to the government decision, the minimum pension for each disabled family member of a fallen serviceman will be at least 12,810 hryvnias. For comparison, this figure was previously 7,800 hryvnias. Thus, payments will increase by 5,010 hryvnias. State bodies confirm this information.

This increase will affect the parents of fallen heroes, their spouses, and children who receive state social assistance instead of a pension.

In addition, the terms of payments for families where two or more immediate family members receive assistance, in particular, not only parents and spouses, will change. Now, the minimum for each of them will be 10,020 hryvnias, up from 6,100 hryvnias previously.

Government representatives emphasize that this is not just an indexation of payments.

“The state increases income to a new guaranteed limit,” officials comment.

This means that the increase in payments is taking place under a special mechanism, not the 12.1 percent most pensioners will receive.
