The popular TV series “Kyiv Day and Night”, which has gained immense popularity over the past ten years, is returning in a new format. Ukrainian producers have announced the creation of a full-length comedy “Kyiv. Day-Night”, which will continue the stories of familiar characters and show how their lives have changed. The film’s premiere is scheduled for the end of 2026.
Studios “Kyivfilm” and “MarkerMedia” have joined forces to produce this full-length comedy, which promises to be a logical continuation of the story of favorite characters. Green Light Films will distribute the film, with a release scheduled for the end of 2026.
The creation of “Kyiv. Day-Night” aligns with the current global trend toward nostalgia and rethinking popular stories. While major studios are working on sequels to cult films, the Ukrainian team is developing a new story for millions of fans who grew up with the series’ heroes.
Producer Yevgeny Taller noted that work on the script began in the summer of 2025. According to Taller, the team strives to preserve the spirit of youth and unpredictability that was inherent in previous seasons while, at the same time, introducing a fresh plot. The film will be about the transformation of the heroes and their paths to adulthood. This is not an easy task, because the project has a large fan base, so they are approaching it with maximum responsibility. According to him, viewers can expect an interesting and funny story.
The film promises to be a dynamic youth road movie that highlights the changes in the heroes’ lives, their challenges and adventures, while maintaining the characteristic drive that made them popular.
The project is already in the preparation stage for production. The director is Andriy Burlaka, the screenwriter is Vlad Baidun, and the director of photography is Serhiy Revutsky. The film is being produced by “MarkerMedia” under the order of “Kyivfilm”.
