What to do if you are underpaid for overtime: Ukrainians are recommended ways to increase payments
In Ukraine, pensioners who have more insurance experience than required for retirement are entitled to an additional allowance. However, many of them complain that they do not receive this payment due to overtime.
The reasons for such complaints and ways to resolve this situation were revealed on the portal “On Retirement”.
In particular, the allowance for additional service is not recalculated in two cases.
1. If the pensioner is still working
When receiving a pension, only the existing service is taken into account. Continuing work does not affect the amount of payments, and recalculation is possible only after dismissal, when the Pension Fund receives documents on the termination of employment.
2. If the total insurance experience is not enough
The additional overtime payment is accrued only if the required insurance experience is met. For those who retired before October 2011, this experience is at least 20 years for women and 25 years for men. For pensions issued after this date, the requirements increase: 30 years for women and 35 years for men.
If a pensioner has sufficient experience and is not officially working, it is worth contacting the territorial department of the Pension Fund with the relevant documents. After that, a recalculation will be performed, and a new amount for the additional payment will be determined.
It is also important to note that since January of this year, the amount of the additional payment has increased to UAH 25.95 per year of additional service, which is more than the previous UAH 23.61; however, this amount is accrued only for a full year of additional service.
Thus, pensioners in Ukraine can receive additional payments if they meet the relevant conditions.
