In Mykolaiv, a man attacked a police officer and a CCC employee, both were injured

A 33-year-old man was detained in Mykolaiv, who attacked a law enforcement officer and an employee of the territorial procurement center with a knife during a document check. Both victims were injured and hospitalized.

The incident occurred on March 17 during events aimed at alerting citizens. As indicated by the Mykolaiv regional police, the military together with the police officers checked the documents of citizens.

One of the men refused to present his documents and became aggressive, which led to a conflict with law enforcement officers.

During the fight, he pulled out a knife and hit a police officer and a military officer. The police officer was wounded in the stomach, and the TCC employee was wounded in the leg.

The victims were urgently taken to the hospital, where they are receiving the necessary medical care. Information about their condition is not being disclosed at this time.

Law enforcement officers were able to quickly identify the attacker and detained him under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The attacker turned out to be a 33-year-old local resident.

During the detention, the knife with which he inflicted the injury was seized from the attacker. Investigators are currently working with him.

The man’s actions were classified under Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which concerns encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer or military serviceman, and provides for serious punishment.

If found guilty, the detainee faces imprisonment for a term of nine to fifteen years or life imprisonment.

Investigative actions are ongoing, and law enforcement officers are establishing all the details of the attack.

Also on March 17, a shell hit the premises of the military commissariat in the city of Gorodnya in the Chernihiv region. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties. Emergency services are working at the scene to clarify all the circumstances.
