Detention of agitators: propaganda and calls for attacks in several regions

The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have detained five agitators who support pro-Kremlin sentiments. They publicly called for shelling of Ukraine and the seizure of its territories.

In Cherkasy region, the wife of the rector of the UOC (MP) church was exposed, who praised the Russian president in messengers and called for the continuation of airstrikes on Ukraine. Among her audience were acquaintances and parishioners.

In Kirovohrad region, an unemployed man was detained, who called for the seizure of state institutions in Telegram and spread ideas about the overthrow of the constitutional order.

In Kherson, a hospital medical worker became a suspect due to publications on TikTok and Odnoklassniki, where he supported Russian armed groups and justified the annexation of Crimea.

Another suspect spread calls for the annexation of occupied territories to Russia, and also called for attacks on Ukrainian cities in her statements.

Another supporter of Russian ideologies was exposed in Vinnytsia Oblast, who was spreading banned communist symbols and Soviet slogans on Facebook, drawing ideas from Russian social groups.

Linguistic examinations confirmed that all of these individuals were engaged in information and subversive activities. They have now been charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including calls for a seizure of power and promotion of banned symbols.

They are also charged with justifying Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. The perpetrators face up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by SBU officers in several regions of the country, under the procedural guidance of regional prosecutors’ offices.
