Additional gas bills: which payments can amount to up to 1,000 hryvnia in April

In April 2026, some customers of LLC “Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine” will receive a third bill for gas. This bill will include the amount for servicing in-house gas systems, and its cost will be determined by a number of factors.

Maintenance of gas networks in residential buildings is extremely important for the safety of residents. Professional specialists check the condition of the gas system, excluding possible accidents. This includes monitoring gas leaks, eliminating malfunctions, conducting inspections of gas pipelines and diagnosing their elements.

According to the Law “On Housing and Communal Services”, the costs of servicing gas networks are not covered by the payment for gas transportation. Therefore, the relevant funds have been transferred to a separate bill, which will indicate the amount for work on the inspection, repair and modernization of the gas pipeline to the point of entry into the house. The owners, co-owners or managers of the buildings will be responsible for these costs.

This payment will be a one-time payment and will depend on the service life of the network, as it will need to be made every three to five years.

The cost of the work to be carried out will be proportionally distributed among all residents of the building. In the case of a building with a large number of apartments and short gas pipelines, the cost for each apartment will be lower. The minimum cost of such work in 2026 will be 120 hryvnias, while in buildings with fewer apartments but an extensive gas pipeline system, the amount can reach 1,000 hryvnias.

In private buildings, not only equipment but also external and internal gas pipelines will also be inspected, so the maintenance costs for their owners will correspond to those incurred in apartment buildings. Private owners will have to pay for these works themselves.
