Where in the EU is the highest in refugee assistance: a comparison of different countries
Ukrainians who have received temporary protection in EU countries have the opportunity to take advantage of financial assistance, which can reach $ 4,000 per year. The largest amount of payments is offered by Germany.
Under the German Bürgergeld program, adults receive a monthly allowance of approximately € 563. In addition, the program covers the costs of renting housing, health insurance and additional payments for children.
Ukrainians who are officially registered, do not have a stable income and are registered with social services are entitled to receive this assistance.
Unlike Germany, in other European Union countries the amount of financial support is much smaller. For example, in Poland payments are often one-time (such as PLN 300 upon registration), while regular support does not meet German standards.
