Секс-скандал у КНУ Шевченка: студенти вимагають термінового звільнення ректора Бугрова

Sex scandal at Shevchenko National University of Kyiv: students demand immediate dismissal of Rector Bugrov

After the appearance of shocking videos allegedly filmed in classrooms, the Student Parliament of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv decided to take decisive action against the administration. The students not only expressed their indignation, but also accused the leadership of systematically failing to fulfill its role in protecting the dignity of young people, calling on the Ministry of Education and Science to intervene in the situation. The question is not only about the reputation of the rector Volodymyr Bugrov, but also about the future of the entire academic community, tired of intimate scandals within the institution.

Unpleasant story and new facts: continuation of the intimate scandal

The scandal, which began back in 2022, took a new turn this spring. Then, anonymous sources first published testimonies and correspondence indicating intimate relationships between the rector and female students, but the administration called it simply an “information attack.” Continuing to silence the problem only allowed ethically unacceptable actions to grow.

On March 20, 2026, new videos appeared, which captured a person resembling Volodymyr Bugrov committing sexual acts. It is horrifying that the location of the events was recognized as the 105th auditorium of the Red Building – the Center for the Study of the Creative Heritage of Ivan Franko. Students are sure that instead of being a center of science, the walls of the university became a backdrop for intimate video materials.

Audit in auditorium 105: confirmation of the worst fears

The student community did not limit itself to words. Members of parliament decided to conduct their own inspection in auditorium 105. The results were impressive: objects were found in the room that exactly matched the details from the compromising videos.

This indicates the reality of such videos, and not falsification. Students emphasized that the behavior of the leadership is absolutely unacceptable – the rector should serve as a moral example, and not become a participant in scandals about intimate relationships with subordinates.

Requirements for the authorities: suspension and conducting an official investigation

The patience of the students has reached its limit. The Student Parliament of KNU appealed to the Ministry of Education and Science, the Office of the President, and the Verkhovna Rada with strong demands. The main points of the appeal include:

An official investigation into the actions of Volodymyr Bugrov.

Immediate suspension of the rector from his position for the period of verification, in order to prevent possible pressure on witnesses and destruction of evidence.

Transparent control by the Supervisory Board and the Verkhovna Rada Committee, so that the case is not “covered up”.

Students emphasize: safety in the educational environment is the right of everyone who studies at the university to gain knowledge, and not to receive unacceptable proposals from the leadership.

Crisis of Trust Ahead of Elections

The situation is complicated by the fact that the university will soon hold a rector election. The student community believes that a person with a reputation tarnished by ethical scandals cannot claim a leadership position for another five years.

Activists emphasize that silence or formal reactions only deepen the crisis of trust. They hope for decisive action from the state, since it is about restoring trust in the higher education system of Ukraine. Shevchenko University should remain a symbol of dignity, and not a place for satisfying the private desires of individual officials.
