American law enforcement officers receive training from Ukrainians on countering criminal gang drones

Ukrainian experts participated in training American law enforcement officers on the use of drones in the fight against drug cartels. These trainings were held in Texas with the participation of units of the US State Department, including the INL Bureau, as well as the DEA and international partners.

During the exercises, the participants actively worked with drones, testing them and developing scenarios for their use in the fight against organized crime. Special attention was paid to countering drones, which are increasingly being used by drug cartels to transport drugs and coordinate operations.

This training included not only technical training, but also the exchange of practical experience and tactics of using UAVs that were acquired in wartime. Experts shared their experiences in the areas of reconnaissance, target detection, and the use of drones in difficult conditions to attack mobile objects.

Information from INL confirms that there was an exchange of experience between DEA specialists and Ukrainian experts regarding the creation and testing of drones, as well as a discussion of rapidly changing tactics. This form of cooperation allows the United States to respond more quickly to new challenges.

The main goal of the exercises was to strengthen the capabilities of the United States in countering drones used by criminal groups, in particular on the Mexican-American border. This includes both detecting and tracking drones, as well as blocking them, as well as using drones to monitor illegal supply routes.

The American side hopes that Ukrainian experience will allow it to stay one step ahead of criminal groups that are actively implementing new technologies in their activities.
