Ben Affleck gave Jennifer Lopez part of a $60 million luxury home for free after their breakup
Ben Affleck has given Jennifer Lopez his share of their $60 million mansion for free. The reason for this generosity was the results of the recent sale of his startup Interpositive to the streaming service Netflix for $600 million.
Documents confirming this deal have been obtained by TMZ.
The couple purchased the luxury Los Angeles estate in May 2023 for $60.85 million in cash and spent a lot of money on its modernization. The house was put up for sale in July 2024, a month before Lopez filed for divorce. Initially, they asked for $68 million, but later the price was reduced to $52 million – so far no buyers have been found. Lopez continues to live in the estate while renovations are underway in her new home.
Affleck has decided to relinquish ownership of the property to his ex-wife, which will likely help Lopez make a profit when the house is sold, once a buyer is found. In the meantime, she is living in an upscale neighborhood while finishing up a new $18 million home where she plans to live with her 18-year-old twins, Max and Emmy. Affleck, in turn, bought a $20.5 million Pacific Palisades home to be closer to his children from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner.
Lopez said in a recent interview that she feels free, which brings her great joy.
