Made a transfer – be prepared for fines: Ukrainians may be punished for this
The usual money transfers from card to card, which have become everyday for many Ukrainians, can lead to serious financial difficulties. In some cases, this can result in fines of up to 34 thousand hryvnias.
Financial expert Lyudmila Sandyga notes that one of the main reasons for this is financial monitoring, which covers almost all banking transactions.
The greatest risks arise for those who do business through a personal card. This includes regular receipts from persons who are not relatives or are not registered as debt repayments.
In this case, the tax service may recognize this money as income, even if the person does not consider himself an entrepreneur. If this income is not declared, this becomes the basis for a fine of 17,000 to 34,000 hryvnias.
Those who:
Regularly receive payments “for services”.
Sell goods through social networks.
Use a personal card for commercial activities should be especially careful.
In addition, banks set limits for clients without confirmed income, which can range from 50 to 100 thousand hryvnias per month. Exceeding these limits or suspicious activity attracts the attention of financial monitoring.
However, it is possible to avoid problems. Experts recommend “taking income out of the shadows” by registering an individual entrepreneur in case of regular income, and clearly separating personal and business accounts.
It is worth remembering that not all transfers are “suspicious”. If we are talking about help from relatives, debt repayment or one-time financial support, this usually does not lead to sanctions.
We also remind you that the innovations in “Privat 24” may affect all clients. Previously, there were reports of restrictions on withdrawals, as well as the closure of access to social payments through Sberbank.
