Рекорд на Великдень: 39 країн зберуться для ''Писанки Єднання'' у Києві

Easter record: 39 countries will gather for ”Pysanka Unity” in Kyiv

In Kyiv, on April 12, on Easter Day, a Ukrainian record and a world record will be set as part of the cultural project “Pysanka Unity”. This event is aimed at reflecting the strength of Ukrainian traditions and the unity of people, regardless of their place of residence.

As part of the “Pysanka Unity” initiative, it is planned to set two records in the capital city – national and world. This information was announced by the organizers of the project.

It was noted that this project has much broader goals than just an artistic event, since its main goal is to demonstrate the unity of Ukrainians through traditional pysanka making.

The event will take place on the territory of the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine. The chosen location was an open-air museum near the Mykolaiv Church of 1763, which was transported from the village of Horodyshche, Chernihiv region and became part of the “Polissya” exposition. It is here that the record is planned to be officially recorded.

The organizers note that representatives of all regions of Ukraine, as well as Ukrainians living in 39 different countries, will participate in the project. Thus, “Pysanka Unity” will be the first large-scale event to unite people around a common symbol – pysanka.

Within the framework of the initiative, pysanka is perceived not only as a traditional element of Easter celebrations, but also as a symbol of cultural continuity and spiritual connection between generations. The organizers describe it as a “code of the nation” that conveys Ukrainian identity through traditions.

The day of its holding – Easter – gives special significance to the event. For Ukrainians, this is not only a religious holiday, but also a time of family unity, renewal and a return to their original essence.

The program of the event will include the consecration of Easter baskets, which will be conducted by chaplains of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at 11:00. The official procedure for fixing the record will begin at 12:00. The event will be attended by organizers, representatives of the cultural sphere, clergy, museum visitors and journalists.

The organizers emphasize that “Pysanka Unity” is not only a cultural event, but also a symbol of solidarity that unites thousands of people. The project aims to bring the Ukrainian tradition to the international level, making it a symbol of support, memory and unity for the whole world.

On the eve of Easter, the National Bank of Ukraine put into circulation a new commemorative coin that embodies the ancient traditions of pysanka in a modern artistic design and is dedicated to the Ukrainian cultural heritage, which has gained recognition in the world.
