Spring is slowing down: Ukraine will again be hit by snow and cold

In Ukraine, significant changes in weather conditions are expected in the coming days – against the background of relatively warm temperatures, cold air will arrive, with rain and possible wet snow. Forecaster Natalia Didenko reported that a cold atmospheric front is crossing the country, which will lead to a significant decrease in temperature and gusty winds.

A new cold air mass will arrive in Ukraine after this. During the day, the temperature may drop to +6…+9 degrees. In the south and east, it will still be a little warmer – to +9…+13, but a cold snap is expected there as early as April 8.

The weather promises to be unstable and humid. On April 8-9, wet snow is possible in some regions. Frosts are also predicted at night in the west, north and partly in the center of Ukraine, which may threaten people’s health and agriculture.

In addition, a strong north-westerly wind, gusts of which can reach 15–20 meters per second, which corresponds to storm conditions, will cause particular concern.

A cold snap is also predicted in the capital this week – the temperature during the day will fluctuate within +7…+9 degrees, rain is possible. The wind will be strong and gusty, so experts advise dressing warmer and not forgetting about hats.

Experts noted that a sharp change in weather conditions can negatively affect well-being, especially in people sensitive to the weather. This can manifest itself in headaches, blood pressure drops, drowsiness and exacerbation of cardiovascular diseases.

However, it is predicted that such a cold snap will be short-lived. According to preliminary data, from mid-April, approximately on the 14th–15th, warm spring weather will return to Ukraine.
